Shao Hsing Hua Tiao Chiew is a well-known traditional specialty and the oldest brewed wine in China. Also known as Shaoxing Wine, it is brewed from pure grain and contains low alcohol content. In Chinese medicine, it used for "improving blood circulation, complexion, and appetite". In the kitchen, it is used as a flavoring and is said to "expel the fishy flavor" of seafood.
